Box of Organic Tamarillo

Tamarillo or tomate de árbol is in the same family as tomatoes, but grow in a habit of a tree. They are native to the Andes mountains in South America. The skin is bitter but the flesh tastes sweet and tropical with the texture of a tomato! We like to cut them in half and scoop out the flesh or cut the tip and squeeze out the flesh straight into our mouth. Store these at room temp.
