These tomatoes are SO GOOD fresh or processed, we always preserve some for the cooler, tomato-less months ahead! These are Early Girl "seconds", they may have blemishes, scarring, blossom-end rot and other cosmetic damages but are still perfectly delicious.

Dirty Girl Produce is legendary for their intensely flavorful tomatoes. They use a technique called dry farming, which involves cutting off the irrigation early in the season to drive the plants' roots deeper into the earth in search of water. This stress yields fewer, smaller tomatoes with a concentrated flavor, great acid balance, and notable minerality.

Over 15+ seasons, farmer Joe Schirmer has selected the best Early Girl fruit, saved their seeds, and grown them out the following season. Over time this has produced a tomato that is veritably theirs: the dirty girl tomato.
